What Was the Problem?

We observed a trend of feedback from our customers that they were using other apps to read, listen and review timely call transcripts. There was a gap in our offering, and we aimed to fill it with an optimal feature.

AI features were really starting to take off — people were buzzing about adding them to their research process.

Business Objective

The feature could be used to upsell higher-priced plans — AI summaries and extended historical report history were reserved for the highest tiers.

There's an industry peer who sells software integrations of transcripts outfitted with audio players, slides and text transcriptions. We figured that instead of buying their service, we could build one just as good with some clear design thinking.
